My day started with a great sunny hot weather of August with the breeze of Lemon trees. I choose to visit Bellapais and have a great view from the hill to the lovely city Kyrenia.
Bellapais is currently considered as one of the most gorgeous Gothic cloister ruins in the Mediterranean.
An open-air museum definitely the attraction that is an absolute must when visiting Cyprus.
Originally christened "Monastery of Peace"
The very much protected religious community is located 6km over the downtown area and offers a brilliant perspective on the shining lights of Kyrenia around evening time and the interminable ocean by day.
It was established and implicit the twelfth hundred years by Augustinian groups escaping the fall of Jerusalem in 1187.
Today the hall is used for classical concerts and other festivities.

Bellapais Monastry is a a gem for the locals and they are very proud of their famous place, which has its own literary masterpiece dedicated to it (Lawrence Durrell - Bitter Lemons, 1957).
In many colorful shops you can buy traditional goods and all sorts of holiday souvenirs.
Bellapais is magical and an extremely exceptional spot for festivities from weddings to birthday celebrations or unique occasions.
Around evening time, many lights enlighten the nunnery in orange light. It overshadows the city and the sparkling lights are likewise an outright dream. Bellapais should not be missed while visiting Kyrenia.
